French Republic 

1. General

Paris is the capital of France. Paris has the four seasons but from December to March is very cold. If you go to Paris, you will arrive to one of the two airports. From these airports you can use the bus or taxi to go to your destination and takes about 45 minutes and 1 hour to downtown.   

 

2. Clothing

For business in France they usually wear suits but depends on the company if the company requests a formal clothing but in some activities they don’t need to be too formal but if it is a important business meeting it is better to wear suit.   

 

3. Business Greetings

The business greeting is with the hand and it is very important to give the business card and explain when and how to contact you. The greeting between friends is give two kisses in each check.   

 

4. Business Meetings

For business meetings you can be late up to 15 minutes after that it considered impolite and rude. They call this time the “quarter courtesy”.   

 

5. Contracts

The contracts in Paris can be flexible but it depends on the value of the transactions and also between the relations that both companies have.   

 

6. Business Dinners

The business dinner is formal but depend on the relationship that you have with the other person. The dinner can be friendlier and sociable. You can talk about several topics not only in business.   

 

7. Gender

There isn’t discrimination for a woman in business but it is more common to see men doing the important business with other companies. Usually the treatment for businesswomen and men are the same.   

 

8. Communication

French people like to communication directly without going around the bush.
